Starved Gazes: Two Years Too Late

Two years into it…., deny, depose, delay.

Business-as-usual²: starving the future.

As Gaza’s babies gaze

into cameras that don’t weep.

On waking nights that never sleep.

Sudden shock, skeletal - small.

Question-in-eyes: does this disturb you, at all?

Already, far too many have simply said: “No”.

They just say it.

Believe it: in words, and in deeds.

This evil price -

of inverted “progress”

or “population control”

or “primitive accumulation”

or a “real estate deal”

or “off-shore oil and gas”

or “just because.”

or - pick one.

The two-state delusion:

In a state of narrative collapse.

In free-fall…

The mission: Attrition³.

Admit no defeat, yet forced to retreat.

To an imaginary win.

Doubling down.

Like a comforting song:

Cognitive dissonance, begone.

Reality, far too hard.

It lands - with a thud.

As always, paid…in others’ blood.
